And Another Award for Scottish Christmas Trees

boys reduced for web2Scottish Christmas Trees are delighted to announce that they scooped runner up in the category ‘Best Other Fir’ at the 2017 British Christmas Tree Growers Association annual tree competition this month.

In 2016, Scottish Christmas Trees won the Best Container Grown tree, and in this, the 19th year of the competition, we decided to enter a 7 foot cut Fraser Fir.  All entries to each of the competition categories are assessed for foliage, colour and shape by fellow growers.  We were delighted with the result and this year our hard working team who nurture our trees all year round took time out from harvest preparation to travel to West Yorkshire, joining Rory at the event.

Even Reindeer Love our Real Christmas Trees!

One of our first requests this year was a call for help from Ythanbank Reindeer at Ellon, Aberdeenshire. The reindeer at Ythanbank needed some fresh Christmas trees to help clean the velvet from their fully grown antlers. An itch that needed a scratch! We were only too happy to help out of course and sent some Nordman Fir. Ythanbank were delighted and sent us some photos and videos of the happy pair!

We hope you enjoy watching Neptune and Mars as much as we did!

Nothing like a polish to your antlers before heading off to pull Santa’s sleigh!!
